"Inspired by my geologist husband's rock collection, my "Geodes and Crystal Caves" series explores the disparity of the inner and outer experience. Rough on the outside yet beautiful on the inside, geodes are like small encapsulated worlds. These quilts exhort us to look below the surface for buried truth."

39.5" x 39.5"

Silk, paint, block printing, machine piecing and quilting

Out of the Box was inspired by a trip to the prehistoric passage grave at Newgrange, Ireland. Passage graves fascinate me because they represent prehistoric man’s struggle to explain the passage of the soul to a new plane of existence .
